Getting gas connected

uemg_gconnect_1If you are looking to connect a natural gas supply to your premises, please be aware that you will be required to arrange for a qualified gas fitter to assess the suitability of your appliance/s and the location of a service line for gas supply.

The following steps outline the gas connection process.

  • Step 1

    You will need to ensure that natural gas is available in your street/location. You can either enter your postcode below or call us on 1300 131 689, to check.

     
  • Step 2

    You will need to choose a gas retailer and enter into a supply contract with them. Please feel free to call us during business hours if you require further information about choosing a retailer, or visit the Australian Energy Regulator website for a full list of licensed retailers.   

  • Step 3

    Your gas retailer will coordinate with us the installation of the gas service line to your property.

  • Step 4

    Your gas fitter will coordinate with your gas retailer to arrange for us to install, test and commission the gas meter once you are ready to connect.

    Please note that costs are calculated on the cost of the connection and the predicted use provided in your application form to your retailer. In many cases, there be will no connection charges incurred by residential customers.
