Electricity distribution price review

Electricity distribution price review (EDPR) overview

Under the terms of UE’s electricity distribution licence, we charge network tariffs to all customers in our region. Government regulations state that the price path for distribution tariffs is set every five years. The original price path was put in place by the Victorian Government as part of the privatisation process.

The current tariff structure was established in the 2011 review. We submitted our proposal for pricing and services under this review on 30 November 2009, in accordance with the timelines set by the AER. This submission provided details of UE’s price and service package for the regulatory period 1 January 2011 to 31 December 2015, including detailed information on future service level benchmarks and proposed changes in distribution charges. Following a lengthy appeals process, the final determination on UE’s price review submission was announced 9 January 2012. The final determination provides UE with the required revenue to continue to meet benchmarks and deliver safe and efficient essential services to our customers.
